The term Pilot is misleading because this in fact was the 'presentation' to sell the show to distributors. This was never aired. In 1986 (which I affectionately call 'The Regurgitation Period' of televison) Straybert Productions held auditions, much like you see now on American Idol or Making the Band, to create a new television show. And this piece shows that process.
In this video you'll see the fifth New Monkee, Jamie Muntner. Marty was off somewhere, needing to be alone with his guitar. He probably ended up in an old abandoned warehouse.
I believe this to be one of Marty's best performances and one of the most simplistic and beautifully shot New Monkees videos. But that's just my opinion :)
Here's the un-official music video for the unreleased song "Late Night". Filmmaker Tom Joslin was running around shooting New Monkees home movies. An official video was never released for this song.
