Centralia PA was the filming location for the opening sequence of the 1988 film "Made In USA". The town's destruction is captured brilliantly. Filmed during the mine fire's peak, the town waits for the government demolition. Yes, this is the real Centralia during it's demise. No special effects were used. The movie stars Adrian Pasdar and Christopher Penn.

We went on an adventure! I took my Heather cosplay up to Centralia, PA, the real Silent Hill. The Silent Hill movie was based off this town, which has a coal mine fire going on beneath it.
We went from sunny 74degrees in MD to cold and windy 51degrees in Centralia. Do I look cold? Because I am freezing!
