On April, 14, 2008, Goldman Environmental Prize winners Pablo Fajardo and Luis Yanza held a press conference in San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel to discuss their case against Chevron in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Desperate to undermine the standing of the prize and the credibility of its recipients, Chevron hurriedly called an unscheduled, rival press conference in the same hotel.
