Red Tail Hawk hunts for a meal using the tall pole and the open meadow below.
I get one maybe two chances to film the hawk each day. Usually I have to leave the camera running to catch the dive as the hawk sits for an hour or more waiting for the sun to warm up the field enough to coax prey out.

The hawk could easily win in a fight as its claws are much stronger than the raven's. But the raven knows the hawk must launch to flight before any danger is threatened.
During the spring/summer nesting season the ravens are, in turn, harrassed by the magpies.
