The standard Aspire One with 8GB SSD only has a 3 Cell battery. This lasts me about 2.5 hours which is fine, but there will be situations when I want more. Acer are releasing a 6 Cell battery later in the year, but I dont know how much that will be, so I have bought an External Laptop Battery from Maplins to keep me going even longer.

The most popular video on my website - a tesla coil constructed mainly from Maplin sourced components blows up when it is powered directly from the mains. The failure was due to the small IRF740 devices failing short circuit, from overcurrent. This also took out the circuit breaker to the garage, which you can see reacted very quickly!!
