CAMPO Sep 13, 2004 - Sen. Barrientos likely regrets giving Costello extra time after it was revealed that the CAMPO chairman is employed by CenTex Beverage, owned by Lowell Lieberman, Vice-Chairman of the CTRMA.
After Costello's charges, State Rep. Jack Stick pressed the chairman on the procedure to determine whether members of the board have a conflict of interest. Barrientos' response: "take it up with the Attorney General."
Dawnna Dukes angrily fires back at Stick, "I'm not on trial here. There's no judge and there's no jury."
In likely the most outrageous moment of the evening, Dawnna Dukes' sister, Stacy Rhone, defends herself against conflict of interest charges and accuses toll opponents of being racists.
"If you look at the people you have been disrespectful to, look at the color of their skin." Rhone's comment drew an angry response from the audience.
