Last but by no means least comes this final number from the B's 1978 Downtown Cafe performance. I hope everyone has enjoyed these delightful glimpses into the formative work of a great American band. Thank you B-52's for all the great music.
And the hits just keep on coming. Originally the lead number from The B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe performance. As a result of these postings I learned a mutual friend, Jeff Thies, was co-owner of the DC. Thanks for the great music, Jeff!
This is the fourth number from the B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe show. It turns out I'm not the first to post this video on YouTube. It was copied by someone from the Georgia State University archives and has been sold on eBay for the past five years. I guess we should be flattered that someone thought it good enough to steal. Watch out for the wheel of karma, though.
Another vintage B-52's number from their 1978 show at the Downtown Cafe in Atlanta, GA. Recorded shortly before the release of their first album. Listen to Cindy Wilson growl!
Runnin' Around and Devil In My Car are the two numbers from The B-52's 1978 Downtown Cafe show not included on their eponymous debut album but later released on their second album, Wild Planet.
The third number from a 1978 vintage B-52's performance at the Downtown Cafe in Atlanta. Tom, Gary and I were Georgia State University students working in GSU's CCTV studio. Recorded on a Sony B&W 1/2" reel-to-reel deck.
This is the final number from The B-52's Live at the Downtown Cafe DVD. Recorded in 1978 in Atlanta, GA, the performance includes 52 Girls, Heroes, Downtown, Devil's In My Car and Runnin'.
