The Prodigal Son The Prodigal Son
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 270 seconds

This song introduced me to Dock Boggs. Note that in the middle of the song, the eldest son should be bemoaning that the father GAVE his brother his portion, not Fed him his portion. My brain froze for a second.

My Walking Stick My Walking Stick
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 186 seconds

Tonights Ukulele selection is "My Walking Stick" by (as far as I know) Leon Redbone.
This is my first attempt at clawhammer style on the uke. Being a banjo player, it was inevitable that I would try it.

Yopp vs Yopp Duet No. 3
Yopp is still getting used to the cello. I installed frets on my banjo. Having them sure feels wierd under the fingers.

Bonaparte Crossing Sherman\ Bonaparte Crossing Sherman's March to the Rhine
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 131 seconds

The second of the Yopp vs Yopp jams. Tonight's selection is a tune known as "Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine" or "Sherman's March to the Sea" depending on where you live and who you learned it from.

My Children My Children
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 130 seconds

An original tune about my kids. This video is a bit experimental for me and its a bit rough looking. Hopefully I will get a better grasp of compositing and chroma key stuff

Ashokan Farewell (fiddle) Ashokan Farewell (fiddle)
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 86 seconds

I have always heard that this is a beautiful fiddle tune. Generally not when I play it. There is hope though. I can almost hear it in this one.

Soldier\ Soldier's Joy duet
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 72 seconds

I finally got the chance to sit down with myself and play a tune together. Predictably, the banjo player kicked it off way too fast and the poor novice fiddler couldn't keep up.

Kennedy Island Kennedy Island
Posted by: YoppyKyabetsu

Video duration: 126 seconds

Tuned my banjo to Gm and found that Captain Kennedy and the skipper of the Minnow wanted to hang out and swap tails of the open seas.
Its an odd pairing, but I thought they worked. "Captain Kennedy" is a Neil Young song. The theme from "Gilligan's Island" is pretty much self explanatory.

O Holy Night O Holy Night

Video duration: 288 seconds

This fell out of the banjo the other night. Still has a couple of stutters in it.
