This is in response to the many arguing against the existence of free will. To some extent I agree with user papackar, it may be that as of today it has normative and not descriptive meaning. The confusion of many I think is that they view those in favor of the existence of free will as refuting physical laws. I disagree.

How amazing is it that the very people who you would assume have religion and faith in high regard would downgrade your argument on the basis that the things you profess are "just" a religion, or faith. I would never raise creationism to the status of science to pretend that by doing so I'm disqualifying it.

I cannot figure any superior (moral) being valuing belief + wrongdoing more than disbelief + goodness. In fact, I cannot see even a good human doing that, let alone a god. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to expect that ANY god will judge people depending on whether they did believe he was the God.
