Replacement of TQFP Atmel AVR ATmega16 on a jtagICE PCB. Some of the pads had been munted in the removal but with only one minor re wiring this device is now working better than ever. Yet another good example of what not to do.
Soldering a 16 pin SO-16 or SOIC IC. Of course I'm wearing my anti-static wristband while doing this ;). The chip being soldered is a DS1805 digital potentiometer from www.maximic.com
How I solder all the 0805 resistors for the Rev F Butterfly MP3 PCB.
I apply solder to one pad. Heat the solder on the pad and slide the resistor into position. Remove the iron and then the tweezers. Once cool solder the other pad.
A bad example of removing a TQFP from a PCB. Note are larger tip should have been used to allow more heat and less force but hey life ain't a text book and I'm impatient
This is how I solder he USB miniB connector (MOLEX 54819-0519) to the Rev F. ButterflyMP3 PCB. This connector is only used to supply power to charge the Lithium Polymer battery. I also use it for RS232 communications using a special cable and modifications to the PCB.
