Bernardo (George Chakiris) and Anita (Rita Moreno)are hot, hot, hot! Everyone in this film is excellent, but these two really stand out. No wonder they both got Oscars for the role. I also include the little drama before the song because I love seeing them bickering like an old married couple.
The Jets mock the kinds of excuses authorities use to rationalize the existence of hooligums like themselves.Sondheim' s lyrics are so witty, and Russ Tamblyn is wonderful as Riff---I am not anti-social, I am only anti-work! So enjoy!
The Jets try to play it cool after Riff's death. I think this is one of the best performed and arranged sequences of the film. Can you imagine expressing repressed anger through pirouette? Genius. And I love how they stare into the camera (supposedly where the Sharks are) in the end.
Maria and Tony's make-believe wedding. This is my favorite part of their romance. I also like the performance before the song. The cinematography in the wedding scene is amazing as well.
